My Work

Welcome to the moments that have made up my life, as of late anyway. Kick back and stay a while...

Abu Dhabi and Dubai Mostly Abu Dhabi

There are a ton of amazing architectural accomplishments in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Moreover I have never been anywhere that is constantly under a state of construction. It is all a bit overwhelming in a positive way.

Japanese Freindship Garden Kelley Park San Jose, CA

So I got an awesome new lens, a 85mm 1.2 but have been so busy that I haven't really used it. Travesty I know. However I made a special point to practice on any couple or family that would let me whilst I was in northern California. Note not all of these shots are with that lens or necessarily from this particular weekend.

Monterey to SF BayViva la Innovacion

From frolicking otters and a cornucopia of jelly fish in Monterey Bay to high winds flowing through the braided hair of the enchanting Golden Gate Bridge, there is just something about northern California that makes me want to shut up, look and listen. Here is what I saw.

League Hockey Back East Bar & Grill vs 1 Stop.

When I was about 8 years old I tried to ice skate for the first time. I also thought this ten year old girl who was far more graceful on her feet than I was on my ankles was just plain gorgeous. So I did what all wise children (oxymoron) do when they are trying to impress someone. I let go of the wall and the next thing I remember, a doctor was shining a light in my face asking me my name. Since then I have always admired people who can ice skate. Of course it is safer for all parties involved if I admire them from the bleachers.

Washington, DC Change, Yes We Can...

I took a trip to DC for business and decided to stay a few days to catch the sights. I am embarassed at how easy it is to forget that this country is so great because this country is so great. Note, to borrow from Harold Washington, just because I love America doesn't mean I hate everybody else. Of course Harold's quote was about black people and I think they're swell too.

December in Santa Barbara If it wasn't for the cost of living...

I had a difficult time believing that there was a place in the continental U.S. that I liked as much as Hawaii, but Santa Barbara hit the mark. Even in December the weather was perfect and the people were so nice. What’s not to love? Oh wait how much does that 1200sq ft. house cost…

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo I liked it better than Denver's...

There is an AWESOME hummingbird exhibit there. It was the first time I had ever seen such delicate speed up close and I was truly amazed. For a small town zoo, they have an impressive collection.

Lulu & Odin My favorite subjects...

My dogs bring such love and warmth to my life that in their presence I cannot help but forget about the news. There is no better ointment for a sore day than a lick and a cuddle. Take a moment and visit with them.

Safari West This was part of a weekend trip to Northern California

This place was very interesting; they are basically brokers to zoos. I am a little embarrassed to say that I just assumed zoos got their animals from the wild. Curse that Madagascar movie!

Sonoma and Nor Cal Coast A weekend ride...

This was part of the same picture-taking weekend as the Safari West adventure. The last photo in this set is actually from Uvas canyon. During this trip I slipped on a log in Uvas and broke my rib and punctured my lung. If anyone was curious about trying that let me save you the guess work OMG IT HURT. I also trashed my camera. Fortunately it was an insured Canon 40D not my current Canon 5D Mark II.

Senior Photo Shoot Remember when we could still change the world with sheer will...

This photo shoot was the first set of senior photos I ever did. My fantastic subject radiates confidence and poise at such a tender age. May she be infected with those qualities forever.

Colorado to Sin City What an amazing road to travel...

I actually hate long drives but my camera made this less burdensome and more of an adventure. I didn't strike it rich in Vegas but I also didn't get any cooties either.

San Francisco Zoo These wonderful creatures have more personality than the guys that my ex-girlfriends dated. Hey wait a minute...

If someone would have told me that as an adult I would really enjoy going to the zoo and capturing giraffes licking other giraffes in places that I didn't think giraffes could stoop let alone lick, I would have surely thought they were mistaken.

Garden of the Gods A trip to the garden of the gods...

Colorado Springs is a beautiful place. These are some of my favorite photos of the Garden of the Gods and the surrounding areas. It's hard to believe that once upon a time COS as nothing more than dry dirt.

Royal Gorge Who says we don't have royalty in this country...

I stumbled across the Royal Gorge when camera-shop Kate advised me to check it out. Of course she said it was the Grand Canyon but I knew better. Still many fun things to do from rafting to ziplines.
